Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a part-time Food Shelf Coordinator to oversee daily operations of the food shelf in Saint Paul. You will process donations, train volunteers, and ensure cleanliness and compliance with health standards while also handling deliveries and food packing.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, coordinating staff and volunteers, and traveling to pick up donations as needed in the Twin Cities area.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minnesota Certified Protection Manager certification required or ability to gain certification within 90 days of employment.
• Previous experience in a food shelf or food services.
• Valid driver's license, meet MVR qualifications, and pass background checks.
• Knowledge of safe food handling.
• Flexible interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient with PC, Microsoft Office, and databases.

Responsibilities

• Process incoming food donations and purchases, document, store, and stock (40%).
• Pack and distribute boxes of food (35%).
• Oversee food shelf operations including staffing and training (10%).
• Maintain cleanliness and ensure health department and food bank standards are met (5%).
• Maintain up-to-date statistics and records (5%).
• Assist with food rescue pick-ups (5%).
