• Assist in setup and breakdown of service areas during meal periods and campus events.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health code requirements.
• Support kitchen as needed, including light food prep.

C.Bargaining Unit:NoPosition Summary:The Food Service Worker plays a vital role in providing excellent customer service and supporting the daily operations of the Queensborough Community College Food Services. This part-time position is responsible for serving food, assisting customers, maintaining a clean dining environment, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.Duties and Responsibilities:• Greet and assist students, faculty, staff, and guests in a courteous and professional manner.• Serve food and beverages quickly and efficiently while following portion and quality guidelines.• Operate cash registers, handle payments, and provide accurate change when assigned.• Restock serving lines, condiment stations, and beverage areas as needed.• Maintain cleanliness of service counters, dining areas, and equipment.• Assist in setup and breakdown of service areas during meal periods and campus events.• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health code requirements.• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Dining Services Supervisor or Manager.• Support kitchen as needed, including light food prep.Qualifications:• Previous experience in food service, customer service, or cafeteria operations is a plus.• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow directions accurately.• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices preferred.• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move up to 25 lbs.• Reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team setting.• Food Protection Certificate (FPC) required.• High school diploma/GED required.
