Supervises the activities of inmate kitchen workers. Coordinates the preparation and cooking through the supervision of inmate kitchen worker cooks and helpers. Responsible for the supervision of all other inmate kitchen workers in the carrying out of all their related duties under the guidance of the Director Food Services or Assistant Director Food Services. Completes tasks and projects as assigned such as conducting in‑service training for Food Service personnel and inmate kitchen workers relating to the principles of proper food, sanitation, safety and hygiene. May fill in for the Assistant Director Food Services as required.
12:30 PM - 8:30 PM and 10:30 PM - 6:30 AM.
The role requires standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, using hands to handle or feel objects, reaching with hands or arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception.
Moderate noise level. The work environment is typical of a kitchen setting with associated hazards and demands described in the physical demands section.
