Job summary

Trinity Services Group is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee inmate labor and team members in the kitchen and food service operations inside a correctional facility. You will prepare and serve meals according to menus, report to a Food Service Director, and work on site inside a jail environment.

Our ideal candidate is passionate about food and service, understands food handling regulations, eager to learn, a strong team player, and able to adapt quickly and flexibly to changing needs.

Qualifications

• We require a high school diploma or GED, and that you are at least 18 years of age.
• Preferred: prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and kitchen team during food prep and service.
• Serve meals per planned schedules and department procedures.
• Cook and portion food using kitchen utensils and recipes.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a safe, healthy work environment for staff and inmates.
• Stand for long periods and handle physical demands of the role.

About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food. You will report to a Food Service Director. You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility. Our ideal Food Service Supervisor excels at the following:

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes. Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.
• Physical demands include items such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need
