Centra Rehabilitation Hospital in Lynchburg, VA is hiring a Food Services Manager for our brand-new inpatient rehabilitation facility opening in 2026. You will lead the hospital's food service program, align with Lifepoint Health standards, and ensure high-quality patient meals within budget.

Qualifications

• Registered dietitian or related credential required.
• Experience managing food services in healthcare settings preferred.
• Food safety certification required (ServSafe/ANSI-CFP).

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning the hospital's strategic plan for food services.
• Manage department according to policies, standards, and regulations.
• Plan and manage the department budget and capital requests.
• Oversee budget via operating expenses and labor management.
• Maintain monthly financial reporting and department scheduling within budget.
• Oversee procurement and inventory to ensure adequate stock.
• Ensure compliance through inspections and receipt/sign-off of invoices.

How you'll contribute

A Food Services Manager who excels in this role:

• Participates in planning and creating the hospital's strategic plan to achieve the mission and vision of the hospital.
• Manages the department by company policies, procedures, standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Participates in the planning of the department budget.
• Submits capital budget request to CFO per policy.
• Accountable for daily managing of department budget through operational expense management and labor management.
• Manages the department's financials and completes necessary monthly reporting.
• Develops or oversees the department schedule to assure adequate staff to provide services, but within budgeted FTEs.
• Performs or oversees ordering and delivery of food, supplies, and equipment from approved vendors to ensure adequate stock levels to perform departmental functions.
• Inspects or delegates the inspection of arriving shipments, signs invoices/receipts.

What we're looking for

Applicants should possess the following qualifications and skills:

Education (must have one of the following qualifications; check state regulations for mandatory qualifications):

• Registered dietitian or Registered dietetic technician. Certified dietary manager. Associate's degree or higher in food service or restaurant management
  Food Safety Training:
• Food protection manager certification from an ANSI-CFP program (i.e. ServSafe®)
  Experience:
• Experience in managing food services in a healthcare facility, acute care or skilled nursing, highly preferred.
