Job summary

Centra Rehabilitation Hospital is a brand-new 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility opening in 2026. We seek a Registered Dietitian to join the team for full-time day shifts in Lynchburg, VA, offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

The role focuses on nutrition care, menu oversight, and patient-specific plan development within Lifepoint Health. Responsibilities include competency testing, adherence to regulations and policies, participation in budgeting and strategic planning, and contributing to

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in dietetics or nutrition.
• Experience: Previous experience in acute care setting, preferred.
• Additional Requirements: State licensure/certification, if required by state.

Responsibilities

• Completes annual competency testing and maintains professional growth and development portfolio to maintain registration and licensure/certification.
• Performs job based on applicable federal, state, and local regulations, company policies and procedures, and evidence-based clinical guidelines.
• Performs job within defined Scope of Practice.
• Participates in the planning of the department budget.
• Participates in planning and creating the hospital's strategic plan to achieve the mission and vision of the hospital.
• Participates in implementing policies and procedures related to nutrition care of the patient.
• Participates in the hospital's performance improvement program by conducting, aggregating, trending, and acting on data for key clinical nutrition indicators.
• Provides oversight of the menu management process.
• Reviews and approves all patient menus in the facility; must approve any substitutions provided to patients.
• Provides oversight for the transcription of diet orders in the department to ensure accuracy.

What we're looking for

Applicants should possess the following qualifications and skills:
