Job summary

HCA Florida Largo Hospital is seeking a Food Services Assistant to support meal preparation, service for visitors, staff and patients, and to help keep all kitchen areas clean, organized, and stocked.

You will wash, peel, shred, slice and mix foods, operate the dishwasher, assemble patient trays according to menu directives, and follow safety and PPE protocols as part of a patient‑focused team in Largo, Florida.

Responsibilities

• You will perform routine duties related to preparation and serving of food.
• You will prepare food for cooking by washing, peeling, shredding, slicing, and mixing various food items.
• You will operate dishwasher or assist with washing/sterilizing dishes, glassware, silverware, utensils, pots, pans, etc.
• You will clean kitchen work areas, collect and dispose of garbage.
• You will assist with food stocking.
• You will serve food in cafeteria for visitors and staff and in patient room.
• You will work in the dish room when needed.
• You will work on patient tray assembly line following menu directives for determining food items for each tray.
• You will follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
