Job summary

Garfield Park Behavioral Health Hospital seeks a part-time food services team member to ensure quality meals for patients and staff. You will assist in patient snack prep, tray setup, beverage and dessert service, and maintain a clean, safe dining environment.

Shifts are 6:00 AM–6:30 PM (6‑hour shifts) with weekend and holiday rotation; High School Diploma preferred and experience in hospital or educational food service is desirable. Information on benefits is available through UHS.

Job Summary

Assures that quality food services are rendered to patients, employees, visitors, Medical Staff, and other allied health professionals in accordance with the standards, rules and regulations of all regulatory agencies and established Hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Assures the maintenance of a safe and sanitary environment.

Prepares patient snacks, sets patient trays, serves staff meals, assists in preparation and service of beverages, vegetables, salads and desserts as assigned.

Work Schedule

Part‑time (20 hours/week). Requires 6‑hour shifts between 6:00 AM and 6:30 PM, including rotating weekends and holidays.

Experience

Training and experience in quantity food preparation in a hospital, long term care, or with educational food service programs

Working Conditions

Works in kitchen, serving line, dining room, food storage areas and other areas of the hospital. Hazards include falls, cuts, burns, and risks associated with the use of electrical equipment and cleaning chemicals.

Physical Requirements

• Push pull and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, bending, lifting and walking.
