Job summary

PIH Health is seeking a hospital dietary aide to assist with preparing and delivering patient meals, ensuring food safety, and supporting trayline operations. You will log temperatures, assist with sanitation, and help maintain clean, stocked work areas in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualified applicants should be able to read, write, and speak English, with preference for those having six months of food service experience and knowledge of modified diets.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve patient meal trays, hot and cold entrees, salads, sandwiches, desserts and supplements.
• Log and monitor hot/cold food temperatures on trayline and verify dishmachine and refrigerator/freezer temps.
• Load patient trays into meal carts and deliver to nursing stations; manage late trays.
• Perform cleaning tasks including washing dishes, pots and pans, and detail cleaning; sanitize work areas.
• Stock and maintain cleanliness of work areas; assist with trayline setup, service, and breakdown.

Job description

Performs a variety of tasks associated with the serving of patient meal trays, hot and cold entrees, salads, sandwiches, desserts and supplements. Takes and logs hot and cold food temps on trayline as well as dishmachine and refrigerator/freezer temps. Loads patient trays into meal carts and delivers meal carts/late trays for patients to nursing station. Performs a variety of cleaning tasks including detail cleaning, washing dishes, and pots and pans. Responsible for stocking and cleaning work areas. Works on patient trayline to include set-up and service as well as breakdown and sanitation. Complies with food safety (HACCP) standards. May be asked to do other tasks associated with food service as the need arises.
