Job summary

PIH Health is seeking an evening shift food service aide at its hospital location in Whittier, CA. You will prepare and portion meals, assemble patient trays, and deliver them to nursing stations while helping with trayline setup and sanitation.

The role emphasizes HACCP compliance, basic reading/writing English, and ability to follow recipes. Prior food service experience and a high school diploma are helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Follow standardized recipes and portion control protocols.
• Log hot and cold food temperatures and equipment temperatures (dishmachine, refrigerator/freezer).
• Load patient trays into meal carts and deliver trays to nursing stations.
• Maintain clean work areas and sanitation per HACCP guidelines.

Job description

Performs a variety of tasks associated with the serving of patient meal trays, hot and cold entrees, salads, sandwiches, desserts and supplements. Takes and logs hot and cold food temps on trayline as well as dishmachine and refrigerator/freezer temps. Loads patient trays into meal carts and delivers meal carts/late trays for patients to nursing station. Performs a variety of cleaning tasks including detail cleaning, washing dishes, and pots and pans. Responsible for stocking and cleaning work areas. Works on patient trayline to include set-up and service as well as breakdown and sanitation. Complies with food safety (HACCP) standards. May be asked to do other tasks associated with food service as the need arises.
