Job summary

The Ronald Reagan Hospital, part of UCLA Health, is seeking to hire a Per Diem Food Service Worker to join the Department of Nutrition. You will be part of a team that provides customer service in our cafeterias and handles food service operations.

Primary duties include setting up service lines, pre-plating and serving food, aiding in meal preparation, merchandising food items, acting as a food runner, measuring temperatures, and washing dishes.

Qualifications

• Ability to work around or use strong cleaning solutions.
• Ability to work in hot, cold, and/or wet areas
• Able to lift, push, or pull at least 50 lb and push loaded carts weighing 350 lb.
• Basic food service duties including pre-plate and serving food.
• Knowledge of portion control and serving procedures.
• read, write, and speak standard English.

• Set up service lines
• Pre-plate and serve food
• Aid in the preparation of meals
• Merchandise food items and maintain the beverage station
• Act as a food runner
• Measure temperatures of hot and cold items
• Wash dishes, pans, utensils, and small equipment

This is a per diem position; schedule and working hours will vary. May convert to Career.

• Able to read, write, and speak standard English.
• Ability to work in standing position for a long period of time; stretch, bend, walk, stoop, and reach repetitively.
• Ability to practice safe food handling techniques.
• Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with co-workers, customers, supervisors and managers.
• Ability to work flexible schedule
