Job Title: Part-Time Food Service Worker

We are hiring immediately for a part-time FOOD SERVICE WORKER position at Bergen County Special Services, located at 200 Hackensack, Hackensack, NJ 07601. Online applications are accepted only.

Requirements: Previous food service or supervisory experience is preferred. Willingness to train is a plus.

Pay Rate: $16.50 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Prepares, presents, and serves food as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables.
2. Weigh and measure designated ingredients.
3. Transport pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator following safety standards.
4. Store food in designated areas, following wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures.
5. Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils.
6. Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
7. Use approved recipes and production standards to ensure quality, proper serving temperatures, and portion control.
8. Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following steps of service.
9. Resolve customer concerns and relay relevant information to supervisors.
10. Ensure compliance with service standards, inventory, and cash control procedures.
11. Adhere to all sanitation and safety requirements.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.
