Job summary

Avera Yankton location is seeking a Part-time PRN Dietary Support worker to assist in light food preparation, plating, stocking, and cleaning in the kitchen. The role supports meal service and pantry operations within the patient dining program.

Responsibilities include ensuring quality, sanitation and temperature control; stocking and labeling; and operating basic kitchen equipment. Prior relevant experience is valued; education requirements are listed above.

Qualifications

• The candidate must complete the Resident Dining Feeding Assistant Program within 1 year.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; related training or experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items for assigned area.
• Meet standards established by Leader for food preparation, quality, sanitation, and efficiency.
• Make recommendations to Leader for all menus.
• Complete daily assigned cleaning in accordance with approved standards.
• Stocks refrigerator, storerooms, work areas with appropriate labeling and dating procedures.
• May operate dish machine, garbage disposal, steam tables, coffee makers, toasters, food processor, espresso machine, and coffee grinder.
• Serves meals/beverages with attention to temperature maintenance.

A Brief Overview

• May operate dish machine, garbage disposal, steam tables, coffee makers, toasters, food processor, espresso machine, and coffee grinder. Induction ranges.

• Serves meals/beverages with attention to temperature maintenance.
