Job summary

Avera Oahe Manor in Gettysburg, SD is seeking a part-time cook/kitchen aide to support light food preparation, plating, and kitchen duties in a multidisciplinary team.

You will handle stocking, cleaning, and assist with catering functions, with day shifts and rotating weekends/holidays. Prior food service experience and the ability to follow safety standards are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items for assigned area.
• Meet standards established by Leader for food preparation, quality, sanitation, and efficiency.
• Make recommendations to Leader for all menus.
• Complete daily assigned cleaning in accordance with approved standards.
• Stocks refrigerator, storerooms, work areas with labeling and dating procedures; maintain food temperature records.
• May operate dish machine, garbage disposal, steam tables, coffee makers, toasters, food processor, espresso machine, and coffee grinder; induction ranges.
• Serves meals/beverages with attention to temperature maintenance.

A Brief Overview

What you will do

• Meet standards established by Leader for food preparation, quality, sanitation, and efficiency.

Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

• High School or GED Equivalent
• Resident Dining Feeding Assistant Program - Avera
• Six months related experience and/or training
