Food Service Worker - Grand Forks, ND (Security)

Hourly Rate: $17.75

Schedule: Mornings 6:00am to 3:00pm and Nights 4:00pm to 1:00am

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Food Service Worker may work anywhere on property where food is prepared. This person will assist in setup and serving of food from counters and steamtables. Duties will include cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work stations. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but the organization may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Washes dishes by hand or places them in a dishwashing machine.
  2. Washes work tables, walls, refrigerators and meat blocks.
  3. Operates a variety of kitchen utensils to weigh, measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, grind, stir, strain, season and knead foodstuffs for cooking, serving and storing.
  4. Assists in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods, and properly stores food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage.
  5. Inspects workstations for compliance with service standards.
  6. Keeps records and requisition for supplies/equipment as needed.
  7. Cleans and sanitizes workstations and equipment following all Aramark, client and regulatory rules and procedures.
  8. Sets up stations with entrée, soups, salads, breads, condiments, other food products and utensils.
  9. Provides general stocking duties in service area.
  10. Brews coffee and tea.
  11. May be required to restock other beverage areas.
  12. May work on a tray line to distribute food.
  13. Interacts with customers in the serving, retail and dining areas.
  14. Assists customers with opening containers and cutting food when requested.
  15. Sweeps, mops, cleans and vacuums floors.
  16. Removes trash and garbage to designated areas.
  17. Transfers supplies and equipment within and between storage and work areas such as pantry and dish room.
  18. Cleans equipment using specific chemicals to ensure sanitary standards.
  19. Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.
  20. Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  21. Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  22. Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
  23. Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
  24. Adheres to Operations Security (OPSEC) standard operations procedures.
  25. Adheres to Property Control Plan for management of Government Furnished Property (GFP).
  26. Adheres to the safety and health program that complies with EM 385-1-1 and applicable OSHA, DOD, Armed Forces Branch(s), Federal, state, and local safety, environmental and health requirements.
  27. Maintain a site-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP) in accordance with Appendix A, EM 385-1-1.
  28. Other tasks as may be directed by the Project Manager/Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Skills/Abilities and Knowledge Required:

  1. Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
  2. Ability to effectively delegate and develop team members.
  3. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  4. Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure.
  5. Detail oriented and strong organizational skills.
  6. Must have commercial cooking experience.
  7. Must Have ServSafe Food Handler Certification.
  8. Must be able to Work a Flexible Work Schedule.
  9. Must Obtain and Maintain a Security Clearance.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. High school education or GED.
  2. 1 year relevant work experience within a commercial food service environment.

  3. Ability to manage time effectively and handle both internal and external conflicts.
