Pay Range: $15.50 - $23.22

Summary:

Full-time, part-time, and flex positions available at Altru Hospital and Altru Specialty Center. Shifts Example: 6am-2:30pm, 8am-4:30pm, 11am–7.30pm, 11:30am-8pm - all team members rotate weekends and holidays.

The Food Service Worker works primarily in the food service operation, handling cash and credit transactions from customers. This position assists in setup and serving of food from counters and steam tables as well as preparing food for service. The Food Service Worker is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing equipment and workstations.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Prepares and delivers food for customers, specials functions, and service areas on time.
  • Sets up functions professionally, accurately and in a timely manner, meeting customer expectations. Serves customers visiting the cafeteria in a friendly and respectful manner.
  • Delivers trays to patients, sets up trays, and unwraps food items. Notifies nurse if patient requires additional assistance and is responsive to patient likes and dislikes.
  • Prepares tube feedings according to standard operating procedure.
  • Monitors and reports any deviation of refrigerator or freezer temperatures to Maintenance. Collects and records dish machine temperatures as assigned, and completes documentation of food temperatures.
  • Follows department standards when preparing food items and shows attention to detail in foods produced.
  • Orders needed supplies according to department standard operating procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
