Job summary

Missouri Veterans Commission is seeking a Cook to join our meal preparation team, providing nutritious meals to Veterans with dedication and care.

You will prepare meals per recipes, follow dietary orders, and lead a small team to ensure smooth, sanitary kitchen operations in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of work experience

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to recipes and serve according to diets as ordered by the physician.
• Perform a variety of skilled cooking assignments, including daily preparation of portions of a large production meal and intermittent preparation of all portions of a large production meal
• Coordinate activities of a small work group including Food Service Assistants as needed
• Ensure food is handled, stored, and served within protocols
• Maintain sanitary conditions in the kitchen by participating in the cleaning of stoves, cookers, kettles and all other related cooking and food storage devices
• Operate equipment, making sure it is properly cleaned and sanitized after each use and report problems per facility policy

Hourly Rate:

• $17.45 - $17.77 day shift
• $19.45 - $19.77 evening shift
