Job summary

Missouri Veterans Home-Warrensburg is hiring a Food Service Assistant to support our dietary team and serve nutritious meals to Veterans. The role offers day and evening shifts with hourly pay ranging from $16.99 to $19.09.

You will assist with meal selection, tray line assembly, food preparation, and delivering carts to resident areas while maintaining a clean dining area and safe operation of kitchen equipment. Prior experience is minimal; 0–1 years preferred.

Qualifications

• 0–1 years of experience in food service or related field.
• Assist with meals, tray line assembly, and serving.
• Must lift, carry and transfer heavy food containers.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Veterans meals, which includes meal selection, tray line assembly, and serving.
• Prepare foods as assigned.
• Deliver and pick up food carts to/from resident areas.
• Clean the dining area – sweep and mop floors, equipment, remove garbage.
• Operate dish machine and other kitchen equipment safely.
• Lift, carry and transfer heavy food containers – load, stock, label, and rotate.
