Position Details

Part‑time Food Service Worker / Cashier – Lapeer Community Schools (250 Second Street, Lapeer, MI 48446). Online applications only. Pay: $14.00 per hour. Referral bonus available.

Hours: Part‑time; days may vary. Typical shifts: 6:45 AM–12:30 PM or 10:30 AM–1:15 PM. Schedule details reviewed during interview.

Job Summary

Performs cashiering duties and general food service work. Maintains sanitation standards in preparation, service and dining areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables; weighs and measures ingredients.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays of food between work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards; distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Stores foods in designated areas following wrapping, dating and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Ensures compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Uses approved recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperature and portion control.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
• Interacts with customers and resolves complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner.
• Relays relevant information to supervisor.
• Performs sales transactions, enters sales into the cash register, makes change, accepts various payment forms.
• Issues receipts and follows procedures for cash refunds.
• Manages assigned change funds and cash receipts, ensuring compliance with overage/shortage standards.
• Replenishes condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining service area cleanliness.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
