The University of Georgia seeks a food service worker to perform routine dining hall tasks under the supervision of the 4‑H Dining Commons Manager. Responsibilities include preparing and presenting food, serving customers, and maintaining sanitation and cleanliness in the dining area.
The role requires knowledge of basic recipes, food safety, and equipment use, with physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work flexible hours to meet dining needs.
This role involves manual and semi‑skilled routine work in the performance of food service duties. Employees apply skills and knowledge that are acquired through experience. Tasks include preparation and service of food and the cleaning and sanitation of equipment and facilities. The position reports to the 4‑H Dining Commons Manager.
Bend at the waist and knees, lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs., stand for prolonged periods, and work with arms and hands overhead. Work in and around heat of kitchen appliances in use, and in cold coolers/freezers when storing and retrieving stock.
Requires at least a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience or education in lieu of the required minimum qualifications may be evaluated by Human Resources.
Driving is a responsibility of this position. The position is a trust position and involves direct interaction with children under 18 and secure access to the dining facility.
