About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor supervises inmate labor and team members assisting with food service in a correctional facility. Responsibilities include preparing and serving food according to menus and work instructions, utilizing food preparation utensils and machines, and ensuring food safety and sanitation. The role requires passion for food and service, teamwork, adaptability, dependability, and flexibility.

Core Responsibilities

• Supervise inmate labor and team members during food prep and service shifts.
• Prepare and assist in food preparation following recipes and work instructions.
• Ensure proper food storage and sanitation.
• Serve food according to schedules and policies.
• Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment properly.
• Follow food safety regulations.
• Train other food service workers.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
• Follow uniform and safety policies.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent, at least 18 years old, valid driver’s license.

Preferred: Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
