Job summary

TrulyHired in Austintown Township, Ohio, is seeking a part-time food service worker to support daily operations in the school kitchen. The role pays $14.84 per hour for 3 hours per day and adheres to the OAPSE salary schedule.

You will handle meal preparation, record keeping, basic cashiering, and compliance with food safety and district policies. The position reports to the Food Service Director and Kitchen Manager, with duties that may vary by kitchen needs.

Qualifications

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Computer knowledge and basic academic skills.
• Prior experience as a food service employee is preferred.
• Knowledge of state and federal nutritional regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains daily and monthly records, inventories, invoices, and reports deficiencies of any product and/or supplies.
• Participates in the preparation of meals including menus, ordering food, supplies & necessary equipment, preparation, serving, cashiering, and clean-up.
• Follows approved menus and standardized recipes for preparing food.
• Must be able to use a computer, including Point of Sale software, email and web browsing.
• Responsible for daily revenues including daily drawer cash count and recording of all monies.
• Immediately report any problems or accidents occurring in the kitchen or cafeteria area to the Kitchen Manager or Food Service Director.
• Follows all federal, state, and local food safety regulations, USDA child nutrition regulations, and all district and department policies and procedures.
• Attends meetings and trainings as directed by the Food Service Director.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager and Food Service Director.

Hours: 3-hours per day

Report times: 10:15 am to 1:15 am (base hours listed but may vary based on the needs of the kitchen)

Salary: $14.84 per hour starting rate in accordance with the OAPSE negotiated salary schedule

Reports to: Food Service Director and Kitchen Manager

The successful candidate must have the following on file before starting

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Favorable current State (BCII) and Federal (FBI) background checks
• Enrollment in Ohio Rapback System
• Ohio Auditor of State Fraud Reporting and Training
• Negative drug screen
