Food Service Worker - 002 (Food Services)

MARCH OPENING

Hourly Rate: $17.75

Schedule: TBD, must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Food Service Worker may work anywhere on the property where food is prepared. Responsibilities include setting up and serving food, cleaning, and sanitizing equipment and work stations. Additional duties may be assigned based on business needs and client requirements.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Wash dishes by hand or in a dishwasher.
  2. Clean work tables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
  3. Operate kitchen utensils for weighing, measuring, mixing, washing, peeling, cutting, grinding, stirring, straining, seasoning, and kneading food.
  4. Assist in preparing hot and cold foods and store them properly, adhering to temperature and spoilage guidelines.
  5. Inspect workstations for compliance with service standards.
  6. Keep records and requisition supplies and equipment as needed.
  7. Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment following all safety and health regulations.
  8. Set up stations with food items and utensils.
  9. Stock service areas as required.
  10. Prepare beverages such as coffee and tea, and restock beverage areas as needed.
  11. Assist in distributing food on tray lines.
  12. Interact with customers in serving and dining areas, assisting with opening containers and cutting food when requested.
  13. Maintain cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, and removing trash.
  14. Transfer supplies and equipment within storage and work areas.
  15. Clean equipment using appropriate chemicals to ensure sanitation.
  16. Attend allergy and foodborne illness training.
  17. Follow all safety, risk management, and security policies, reporting accidents and injuries promptly.
  18. Participate in safety meetings, training, and hazard assessments.
  19. Complete designated training programs.
  20. Adhere to Operations Security (OPSEC) procedures and Property Control Plans.
  21. Comply with safety and health regulations, including EM 385-1-1, OSHA, DOD, and other applicable standards.
  22. Maintain a site-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP).
  23. Perform other tasks as directed by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  2. Ability to delegate and develop team members.
  3. Maintain confidentiality of information.
  4. Ability to make decisions and solve problems under pressure.
  5. Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
  6. Commercial cooking experience required.
  7. ServSafe Food Handler Certification required.
  8. Flexible work schedule required.
  9. Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in a commercial food service environment.

  • Ability to manage time effectively and handle conflicts.
