The Food Service Worker will assist the manager with food/meal preparation; maintain cash receipts and meal records. Assist the manager in completing daily reports. Maintain high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices. Supervise inmates to ensure that meal and food items are prepared according to production plans. Train workers in duties, assign and coordinate work to promote efficiency. Responsible for sanitation and safety standards compliance. Essential functions may vary by location based on client needs.

This role is eligible for a $300 RETENTION bonus. $150 after 30 days and $150 after 90 days. Must be in Good Standing with Attendance. Other restrictions may apply!

Job Responsibilities

1. Adhere to and maintain preparation and production guidelines according to Aramark standards by reviewing and approving production and temperature logs.
2. Supervise inmates in food preparation and tray assembly.
3. Ensure timely, efficient meal service and compliance with Aramark guidelines.
4. Participate in meal preparation and serving.
5. Print and distribute recipes.
6. Train inmates in the use of recipes and proper cooking procedures.
7. Ensure proper portions and dietary requirements are met.
8. Obtain and review daily population counts.
9. Follow security policies and ensure storage areas are locked.
10. Return and secure all kitchen tools, equipment, and keys.
11. Determine work procedures, prepare work and sanitation schedules.
12. Assist with inventory, receiving, and storing food items; requisition orders as needed.
13. Participate in meal assembly and storage following HACCP policies.

Qualifications

1. Must be over 18 years of age.
2. Minimum of one year food prep or related experience preferred.
3. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
4. Experience with inmates is a plus.
5. Ability to motivate and supervise inmates and team members in a correctional environment.
6. Must obtain a food safety certification.
7. Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
8. Follow safety procedures and policies.
9. Qualify for and maintain correctional security clearance.

This role may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking and standing. Uniforms and PPE may be required.
