Position details:

• Hours: 7 hours per day, Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (School Year)

Job Goal: To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the assigned schools for the School Nutrition Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Includes, but not limited to:

• Perform duties related to food preparation, serving, cashiering, and cleaning efficiently and to the best of ability.
• Log in through AESOP to enter daily attendance and report absences promptly.
• Follow all policies regarding safety, sanitation, personnel standards, cash handling, and work techniques.
• Assist with food preparation, portioning, cleaning kitchen equipment, setting up serving lines, and serving food according to standards.
• Check food and equipment temperatures, and follow meal pattern requirements.
• Wash dishes, trays, flatware, pots, etc.
• Unpack supplies, organize storage areas, and rotate stock properly.
• Operate kitchen equipment properly.
• Prepare the kitchen for opening and closing of the school year.
• Perform tasks assigned by Supervisor or Lead and substitute as needed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Any combination of experience and training demonstrating the ability to perform the work.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Work well with co-workers and students, independently and under pressure.
• Operate kitchen tools and equipment safely.
• Follow directions from Cafeteria Lead, maintain flexibility, and report on time in proper attire.
• Perform other duties to ensure optimal program operation.
