About This Position

This position is located in a Jail/Correctional Facility and requires working in close contact with and interacting with inmates.

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members in the food service operation within a correctional facility. Responsibilities include preparing and serving various food items accurately and efficiently, following work instructions and menus, and utilizing food preparation utensils and machines.

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities

• Supervise inmate labor and team members during food prep and service shifts
• Prepare and assist in food preparation according to menu and recipes
• Ensure proper storage and sanitation of food
• Serve food as per scheduled meal times and policies
• Utilize kitchen equipment and utensils properly
• Follow all food safety regulations
• Train other food service workers
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment
• Adhere to uniform policies
• Manage garbage and keep the kitchen environment clean
• Ensure proper portions and utensil use
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment
• This role involves physical activity such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; must be at least 18 years old
