The Food Service Worker serves and monitors the distribution of meals, ensuring compliance with guidelines for special diets. Prepares dining areas for meal service and sets up serving lines. Cleans dining, service, and food preparation areas. The incumbent will perform duties adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct, acting in the best interest of SABHH. Knowledge of healthcare sanitation and ability to interact with a diverse workforce are required.

Essential Duties:

• Practice appropriate hygienic practices
• Record warmer & cooler temperatures, turn on warmers
• Set breakfast line: cereal dispensers, bowls, jelly, syrup, ketchup, butter
• Open milk cooler
• Reassemble and stock juice machine
• Restock plastic ware, foam plates, bowls, cups
• Check ice dispenser
• Make 8 coffee dispensers, ensure cleanliness
• Stock sanitizer bucket & turn on salad bar
• Serve breakfast and clean as you work
• Break down line after serving, scrub, rinse, sanitize, wipe tables, sweep, remove trash
• Restock supplies and condiments
• Ensure salad has 9-10 items, utensils, sweeteners, sandwiches, lemonade
• Serve meals
• Post-lunch, break down line and return salad bar to prep
• Wash, rinse, sanitize salad bar
• Pull snacks at 2:00 pm or 8 pm
• Store chemicals safely
• Keep food in proper containers
• Maintain cleanliness of area
• Maintain safe and sanitary conditions
• Follow food sanitation principles
• Follow personal hygiene procedures
• Store cleaning cloths in sanitizing solution
• Support team efforts
• Handle, store, label, and rotate products properly
• Work independently in a physically restricted environment
• Assist in food prep, service, and storage
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education and/or Licensure: High school diploma or equivalent, or 2 years' work experience. Must obtain a Food Handlers certificate within 30 days.

Experience: At least 1 year in food service, preferably in healthcare. 2 years in a kitchen role preferred.

Additional Requirements: Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Availability for varied shifts. CPR and SAMA training within 30 days of hire.
