  • Assembles patient trays according to menu orders.
  • Operates and cleans kitchen equipment such as warmers, steam tables, slicers, refrigerators, and freezers.
  • Monitors inventory levels and informs manager of low stock.
  • Cleans work areas and utensils, keeping prep areas sanitized.
  • Greets patients and staff with courteous service and supports Richmond University Medical Center's mission.
  • Completes shifts on time with a focus on teamwork and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Food Safety & Quality Regularly inspects work area to remove outdated, expired, or mishandled food items.
  • Prepares, portions, arranges, and labels food tray items according to menu instructions, hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Maintains proper food storage practices, including labeling, dating, and rotating stock using FIFO (First In, First Out).
  • Adheres to procedures for handling potentially hazardous foods, ensuring they are not left in the Temperature Danger Zone (41°F–135°F).
  • Tray Line & Meal Assembly Assembles patient trays accurately based on menu orders.
  • Ensures all food items are presented neatly and meet dietary requirements.
  • Equipment Operation & Maintenance Operates and cleans kitchen equipment such as plate warmers, steam tables, slicers, refrigerators, and freezers.
  • Uses proper PPE and vendor-supplied equipment when handling cleaning chemicals to ensure safety and correct concentration.
  • Inventory & Supplies Monitors inventory levels and promptly notifies the manager of low or out-of-stock items.
  • Restocks workstations according to par levels to maintain adequate supplies without overstocking.
  • Cleaning & Sanitation Cleans work areas, including dish machines, food delivery carts, and floors, following established procedures.
  • Maintains clean and organized food prep areas with fresh sanitizer buckets to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Follows waste management and recycling protocols.
  • Compliance & Training Complies with all OSHA regulations and local, state, and federal mandates.
  • Completes all required annual training on time.
  • Stays informed about updates to policies, menus, recipes, and portioning procedures.
  • Teamwork & Communication Communicates any incomplete tasks or concerns to the manager before the end of the shift.
  • Assists coworkers during low census periods by restocking, cleaning, and organizing.
  • Participates in quality control, assurance, and improvement initiatives.
  • Customer Service Greets all patients, visitors, and staff with a smile and provides courteous, helpful service. Embodies the mission of Richmond University Medical Center in all interactions.
  • Time Management Completes all assigned tasks within the shift without leaving excessive work for the next team.
  • Days w/ every weekend & hols; 3p - 7p

Salary Range: $25.135/Hr - $26.462/Hr
