About This Position

This position is located inside of a jail/correctional facility.

The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for supervising inmate labor and team members assisting with food service in a correctional facility. This includes preparing and serving food according to instructions and menus, utilizing various food preparation utensils and machines.

• Supervise inmate labor and team members during food prep and service
• Prepare and assist in food preparation according to menus and recipes

• Serve food as scheduled and according to policies
• Use kitchen utensils and equipment properly
• Follow food safety regulations
• Train other food service workers
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment
• Follow uniform and safety policies
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• At least 18 years old
• Preferred: prior institutional or restaurant food service experience
