JOB SUMMARY

The LTC Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing and serving food according to standardized recipes, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring proper storage and handling of food and supplies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Follow correct procedures for thawing foods and preparing food/beverages for meal times.
2. Set up steam tables with hot and cold food items.
3. Serve on tray line, including adding condiments and beverages, and transporting trays to residents.
4. Prepare foods for special diets and menu requirements, ensuring proper portion sizes.
5. Store leftovers properly with labeling and proper cooling methods.
6. Assist in preparing foods for special events and snack schedules.
7. Label, rotate, and store incoming stock appropriately.
8. Maintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and floors.
9. Operate dishwashing equipment to ensure dishes are cleaned and sanitized.
10. Ensure all food carts, pots, pans, and utensils are cleaned, sanitized, and stored properly.
11. Keep storage areas like walk-in coolers and refrigerators organized and clean.
12. Store cleaning and sanitizing agents safely away from food areas.
13. Maintain logs for food temperatures, sanitation, and dish machine chemicals.
14. Label leftovers with name and date, disposing of items not used within 48 hours.
