Responsibilities

Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is a 126-bed, inpatient psychiatric hospital and start-up joint venture between Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine and Universal Health Services.

In addition to a general adult unit and dedicated adolescent unit, the facility offers services for treating those with co-occurring disorders on the psychiatric-medical unit, an intensive adult unit to care for those with severe conditions, as well as a women’s trauma unit.

How will you make a difference at LBHH?

Food Service Workers prepare and serve meals as outlined on the menu for patients, employees, medical staff and visitors to deliver quality and delicious meals.

Food Service Workers are responsible for completing the following duties and tasks:

  • Place food on serving line on time, providing sufficient eating utensils, trays, napkins, and paper cups.
  • Clean work area including trash removal and table washing after each meal. Clean dishes, floors, food-prep areas and equipment daily.
  • Serve meals in the cafeteria and assemble individual patient trays and galleys for delivery to the unit.
  • Accept and reconcile deliveries and put away stock.
  • Assist the cook in food preparation.
  • Consistently engages and interacts with our patients and their families by using the treatment principles of Trauma Responsive Care.
