About This Position

The schedule is from 5 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., days may vary. The Food Service Worker prepares and serves a variety of food items in accordance with work instructions and menus within a correctional setting. This role involves using various food preparation utensils and machines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist in the preparation of quality foods according to menus and recipes.
• Maintain a clean and safe workstation, including cleaning and sanitation duties.
• Serve food during scheduled meal times following policies.
• Use kitchen utensils and equipment properly to prepare and serve food.
• Follow all food safety regulations.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• At least 18 years old
