Job summary

QUEST FOOD MANAGEMENT SERVICES LLC seeks a Food Service Worker to support daily school kitchen operations at Judson University, Elgin, IL. The role involves food prep, portioning, serving meals, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

Ideal candidates are reliable, able to work in a team, and capable of following standardized recipes. Part-time hours run Monday–Friday, 8am–1pm, with no nights, weekends, or holidays. Training and safety certifications may be provided.

Qualifications

• Previous food service, restaurant, cafeteria experience preferred but not required
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Reliable attendance and punctuality required
• Serve Safe Certified or the ability to obtain certification upon hire
• Must pass federal background check
• Ability to read, speak, and comprehend English

Responsibilities

• Prepare fruits, vegetables, and other menu items according to standardized recipes and meal schedules
• Wash, cut, portion, cook, and package food products for distribution
• Assist with meal assembly and service to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met
• Label, date, and store food products following food safety guidelines
• Operate kitchen equipment including ovens, steam tables, and knives
• Maintain clean and organized workstations throughout the shift.
• Follow HAACP procedures and document food temperatures as required
• Assist with receiving deliveries and stocking inventory using FIFO procedures
• Support cooks with food preparation and other duties as assigned
• Work efficiently to meet production deadlines
• Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal food safety and sanitation guidelines

Position Summary

The food service worker supports daily food production operations in a school kitchen that serves students

The position is responsible for preparing ingredients, assembling food items, serving students meals, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

The ideal candidate is reliable, energetic, and able to work efficiently as part of a team to meet daily production goals.
This part-time position follows the Woodridge SD 68 school calendar and starts in August. Monday- Friday 8am-1pm.No Nights, weekends, or holidays.

Essential duties and responsibilities
