Job summary

Quest Food Management Services is seeking a part-time food service worker for a school kitchen in Illinois. The role supports daily production, prepares ingredients, assembles meals, serves students, and maintains a clean, safe workspace.

The schedule runs Monday through Friday, 8am to 1pm, following the Woodridge SD 68 school calendar; there are no nights, weekends, or holidays. The ideal candidate is reliable, energetic, and works well in a team to meet daily goals.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Serve Safe certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
• Must pass federal background check.
• Ability to read, speak, and comprehend English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fruits, vegetables, and menu items per recipes.
• Wash, cut, portion, cook, and package food for distribution.
• Assist with meal assembly and service to ensure quality.
• Label, date, and store food per safety guidelines.
• Operate ovens, steam tables, and knives.
• Maintain clean and organized workstations.
• Follow HAACP procedures and document temperatures.
• Assist with receiving deliveries and FIFO inventory.
• Support cooks with prep and other duties.
• Meet production deadlines.
• Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines.

Position Summary

The food service worker supports daily food production operations in a school kitchen that serves students

The position is responsible for preparing ingredients, assembling food items, serving students meals, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

The ideal candidate is reliable, energetic, and able to work efficiently as part of a team to meet daily production goals.

This part-time position follows the Woodridge SD 68 school calendar and starts in August. Monday- Friday 8am-1pm. No Nights, weekends, or holidays.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Prepare fruits, vegetables, and other menu items according to standardized recipes and meal schedules
• Wash, cut, portion, cook, and package food products for distribution
• Assist with meal assembly and service to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met
• Label, date, and store food products following food safety guidelines
• Operate kitchen equipment including ovens, steam tables, and knives
• Maintain clean and organized workstations throughout the shift.
• Follow HAACP procedures and document food temperatures as required
• Assist with receiving deliveries and stocking inventory using FIFO procedures
• Support cooks with food preparation and other duties as assigned
• Work efficiently to meet production deadlines
• Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal food safety and sanitation guidelines

• Previous food service, restaurant, cafeteria experience preferred but not required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
