Terms of Employment
The contract length will be 178 days.
Evaluation
Based on local district policy and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, performed by the food service manager with assistance from the food service supervisor.
Job Goal
The Food Service Worker will work cooperatively to maintain an efficient and effective food service program at the school, meeting nutritional needs and program acceptability for students and staff, in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Performance Responsibilities
- Follow and maintain knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations.
- Perform duties assigned by the manager, including working in extreme temperatures, standing for extended periods, lifting up to fifty pounds, and operating commercial food service equipment such as convection ovens, fryers, mixers, braising pans, steamers, food processors, and dish machines.
- Handle cleaning duties of kitchen, serving areas, and equipment, including working with chemicals like chlorine bleach, grease cutter, and oven cleaners.
- Prepare food items, determine appropriate quantities, adjust recipes, and maintain food quality standards, including appearance and nutritional requirements.
- Serve food in accordance with health and sanitation standards, monitoring temperatures to ensure safety and quality.
- Store unused food and supplies properly, dispose of leftovers, and handle foods correctly for storage.
- Record food quantities cooked and leftovers, assist with inventory, and maintain routine records.
- Collect money and keep accurate records as assigned.
- Participate in activities necessary for the optimal functioning of the school food service program.
- Observe safety rules and report accidents per District policy.
- Care for equipment and facilities properly.
- Maintain health and work habits, and adhere to standards of conduct and dress code.
- Maintain a helpful attitude toward colleagues, students, and staff.
- Cooperate fully with faculty, students, manager, and other employees.
- Participate in in-service training programs provided by the District and/or State.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
