About This Position

This position is located in a Jail/Correctional Facility and requires working in close contact with and interacting with inmates.

The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for supervising inmate labor and team members assisting with food service in a correctional facility. This role involves preparing and serving various food items according to work instructions and menus, utilizing food prep utensils and machines.

Essential Functions

• Supervise inmate labor and team members during food prep and service shifts
• Prepare and instruct on the preparation of quality foods according to menus and recipes
• Ensure proper and sanitary food storage
• Serve food according to schedules and policies
• Use kitchen utensils and equipment to cook and serve food, meeting nutritional standards
• Follow food safety regulations
• Train other food service workers
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment
• Follow uniform policy
• Manage waste and keep kitchen floors clean
• Ensure the environment is ready for food prep and serving
• Review portions and utensils for service
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment
• This role includes physical activities such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
• Perform other duties as assigned
