Description:

SUMMARY:

Performs various food service tasks including meal assembly, delivery, dishwashing, and handling metal ware.

Pay starting at $15.59 or higher based on experience

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up and clean tray line assembly areas, including hot and cold food items, silverware, dishes, napkins, salads, desserts, breads, and beverages
• Stock food and non-food items and equipment at work stations
• Operate assembly tray line stations and read tray tickets for accuracy
• Load trays onto delivery carts
• Remove soiled trays from patient units and transport patient and customer trays
• Operate elevator for delivery and pick-up of carts to patient care units and outpatient clinics
• Deliver meals to patients and assist with their needs, responding to concerns and requests
• Use portable telephones to communicate and ensure patient needs are met
• Operate dishwashers, clean equipment, kitchen areas, and unload food from carts
• Clean and sanitize all metal ware, cookware, and utensils
• Prepare simple foods like sandwiches and salads as needed
• Maintain records such as tray delivery and pick-up schedules

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience: 3 to 6 months of on-the-job training or previous experience preferred

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods, up to 100% of the workday
• Ability to lift and push up to 50 lbs
• Attention to detail and concentration for up to 50% of work time

• Effective interpersonal communication skills with staff, other departments, and patients
