Quest Food Management Services, Inc. in Joliet, IL seeks a reliable Food Service Worker to support daily production in a school kitchen. You will prep ingredients, assemble items, serve meals, and keep a clean, safe work area. The ideal candidate is energetic and able to work well in a team to meet daily goals.

No nights, weekends, or holidays. Mon-Fri 6 am-2 pm. Must pass Federal Background Check and Serve Safe certification is required or obtainable upon hire. English literacy is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous food service experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality required.
• Serve Safe Certification or ability to obtain certification on hire.
• Must pass federal background check.
• Ability to read, speak, and comprehend English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fruits, vegetables, and other menu items according to recipes and schedules.
• Wash, cut, portion, cook, and package food for distribution.
• Assist with meal assembly and service to ensure quality.
• Label, date, and store food following safety guidelines.
• Operate ovens, steam tables, and knives.
• Maintain clean and organized workstations throughout the shift.
• Follow HACCP procedures and document temperatures as required.
• Assist with receiving deliveries and stocking inventory using FIFO.
• Support cooks with food preparation and other duties as assigned.
• Work efficiently to meet production deadlines.
• Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Prepare fruits, vegetables, and other menu items according to standardized recipes and meal schedules
• Wash, cut, portion, cook, and package food products for distribution
• Assist with meal assembly and service to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met
• Label, date, and store food products following food safety guidelines
• Operate kitchen equipment including ovens, steam tables, and knives
• Maintain clean and organized workstations throughout the shift.
• Follow HAACP procedures and document food temperatures as required
• Assist with receiving deliveries and stocking inventory using FIFO procedures
• Support cooks with food preparation and other duties as assigned
• Work efficiently to meet production deadlines
• Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal food safety and sanitation guidelines

Physical Requirements
