Part-Time Food Service Worker
Summary:
The Food Service Worker assembles ingredients for the production of kitchen carts and patient meal trays, serves food according to recipes, and handles inventory, labeling, tray assembly, and safety and sanitation duties.
Responsibilities:
- Assembles patient meal trays and serves food in retail settings according to recipe portions.
- Cleans and sanitizes equipment, dishes, trays, and utensils; maintains a neat work area.
- Delivers and assembles stock items and patient trays.
- Maintains logs, records temperatures, and documents HACCP compliance.
- Uses kitchen equipment and skills for preparing items for cafeteria, catering, and patient needs.
- Handles customer requests and concerns as appropriate.
- Picks up dirty trays according to schedule.
- Performs inventory management and stocks floors based on par levels, census, and inventory forms.
- Notifies supervisor of equipment repairs or issues and communicates customer concerns.
- Prepares food for various department areas, including meat, seafood, and produce.
- Prepares produce and poultry; makes sandwiches and fillings daily; assembles carts for production based on sheets or labels.
- Performs other duties as required.
Other Information:
Technical Expertise
- Experience in Food Service preferred.
- Experience with hazard analysis critical control point (HACCP) preferred.
- Experience in short order cooking and room service preparation preferred.
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software required.
Education and Experience
- ServSafe certification preferred.
- 0 to 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- No supervisory experience required.
