This position is within the Nutrition & Food Service unit at the VA Medical Center in Batavia. The primary purpose is to support food service operations for Veterans, including food preparation, dishwashing, storage, and serving areas.
This role requires proficiency in various procedures such as food and beverage preparation, modified diets, safety, sanitation, and computer skills. Major duties include:
Shifts include 6am-2:30pm, 7am-3:30pm, and 10:30am-7pm, including weekends and holidays.
Work involves exposure to heat, hot liquids, sharp blades, and temperature changes, requiring light to moderate physical effort, including lifting up to 20 pounds regularly and over 40 pounds with assistance.
Experience demonstrating ability to perform duties is required. No specific training length is mandated. Applicants are rated based on the OPM standards and must meet the minimum qualifications by the closing date.
