Job summary

Southeastern Virginia Training Center, part of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, seeks a Food Service Technician I – Part Time to support the Food Services team. You will assist with meal delivery, safety compliance, and equipment care in a resident-focused setting.

The role offers $15.00 hourly with rotating early shifts, weekends and holidays. A high school diploma and valid driver’s license are required, along with background checks and 5-day training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Active, valid driver's license required.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and BOH regulations adherence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver meals to residential homes and support food service operations.
• Load/unload carts, connect to re-therm units, and ensure proper item placement.
• Wash dishes and sanitize food service equipment per BOH standards.
• Set up trays, ensure correct temperatures, and maintain clean service areas.
• Help maintain food carts, dining areas, and equipment in good condition.
