Job Duties

THIS IS A WAGE (UP TO 28 HOURS/WEEK) POSITION WITH NO BENEFITS!

Perform operational food service tasks related to the assembly and service of patient trays, including:

  • Read tray tickets and posted job assignments
  • Proper assembly of patient trays and snacks
  • Serve items from a cold serving station and/or hot serving line
  • Clean and wash dishes, trays, equipment, and kitchen facilities
  • Stand and walk prolonged periods on various surfaces
  • Lifting moderate loads (10-40 lbs.) and bending, stooping, and carrying objects
  • Work in hot, humid, and secure locked environments with individuals experiencing acute mental illness symptoms and/or forensic/legal involvement

All work must be performed in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Virginia Department of Health and maintain a high level of personal hygiene.

Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends, and holidays. Operating hours are 5:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Current ServSafe certification or ability to obtain certification within six months of employment

  • Ability to read and write
  • Ability to lift 20-50 pounds
  • Visual acuity to see spoilage
Additional Considerations
  • Previous behavioral health or hospital experience
  • High school diploma
