About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor supervises inmate labor and team members assisting with food service in a correctional facility. Responsibilities include preparing and serving food according to menus and work instructions, and utilizing food preparation utensils and machines.

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities

• Supervise inmate labor and/or team members during food prep and service shifts.
• Assist or instruct in food preparation according to menus and recipes.
• Ensure proper and sanitary food storage.
• Serve food during scheduled meal times following policies.
• Use kitchen utensils and equipment properly to prepare and serve food.
• Follow food safety regulations.
• Train other food service workers.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
• Follow uniform policy.
• Manage garbage and keep kitchen clean.
• Ensure the environment is ready for food prep and serving.
• Review portions and utensils for service.
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment.
• This role involves physical activities like lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; at least 18 years old.
• Preferred: Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
