Job Title: Corrections Food Service Supervisor

Are you interested in leveraging your food industry experience in an institutional setting? Do you want to lead a large-scale food service operation and help rehabilitate inmates by teaching valuable skills? The Department of Corrections (DOC), State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Camp Hill, is seeking an energetic and self-motivated Corrections Food Service Supervisor. If you aim to ensure efficient food service operations and contribute to reducing criminal behavior through education and treatment, we encourage you to apply!

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Corrections Food Service Instructors and inmate workers performing routine and specialized food service tasks.
  • Inspect food service areas, equipment, and food to ensure safety and sanitation standards are met.
  • Approve requisitions for food supplies and equipment based on projected needs.
  • Submit reports on inventory, safety, and production.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and inmates.
  • Implement work processes supporting efficient food service.
  • Provide instruction in therapeutic and religious diet preparation, adjust recipes to reduce waste, and exercise care, custody, and control over inmates.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time, 40 hours/week
  • Work hours: 4:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM, rotating shifts
  • No telework option
  • Salary may be non-negotiable in some cases
Qualifications:
Minimum Experience and Training:
  • One year as a Corrections Food Service Instructor or equivalent Federal job, or
  • Three years in large-scale food service, including one year of lead work, or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training with one year of lead work.
Additional Requirements:
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA
  • Ability to perform essential job functions

  • Pass background investigation and meet CJIS requirements
