About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor supervises inmate labor and team members assisting with food service in a correctional facility. This role involves preparing and serving various food items accurately and efficiently, following work instructions and menus, and using food preparation utensils and machinery.

Essential Functions and Core Responsibilities

• Supervise inmate labor and team members during food prep and service shifts
• Prepare and instruct in food preparation according to menus and recipes
• Ensure proper and sanitary storage of food
• Serve food as per schedule and policies
• Use kitchen utensils and equipment correctly to prepare and serve food
• Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations
• Train other food service workers
• Maintain cleanliness of work environment and equipment
• Adhere to uniform policy
• Manage waste and keep kitchen clean
• Ensure proper portioning and utensil use
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment
• This role involves physical activity such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods
• Perform other duties as assigned
