Job summary

Trinity Services Group is seeking a Food Service Worker to oversee inmate labor and assist with kitchen operations inside a correctional facility. You will prepare and serve food according to recipes and menus, and train fellow workers.

The role requires availability on weekends/holidays and a schedule from 9am to 5:30pm, five days a week, with every fourth weekend off. A $1500 hiring bonus and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Candidate must be at least 18 years of age.
• Preferred prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes and portion meals to meet nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for employees and inmates.
• Stand for extended periods and perform lifting, bending, and pushing as needed.
• Additional duties as assigned.

About This Position

Must be available to work some weekends and holidays

The Food Service Worker oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food.

You will report to a Food Service Director.You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes. Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.
• Physical demands include items such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.
