Job summary

Trinity Services Group seeks a Food Service Supervisor to oversee inmate labor and kitchen operations within a correctional facility. You will prepare and serve a variety of meals following menus and training staff accordingly, while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.

Reporting to a Food Service Director, you will work on-site and be required to cover some weekends and holidays. The role emphasizes teamwork, adaptability, and dedication to high-quality service for the inmate population.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Preferred experience in institutional food service or restaurant settings.

Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes and portions.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for staff and inmates.
• Stand for extended periods and perform physical duties as required.
• Other duties as determined by our needs.

About This Position

Must be available to work some weekends and holidays

Wed - Sat 8am to 6pm

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food.

You will report to a Food Service Director. You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes. Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.
• Physical demands include items such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need

• Required:
  • We require a high school diploma or GED, and that you are at least 18 years of age.
• Preferred:
  • We prefer prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
