Job summary

TKC Holdings, Inc. seeks a Food Service Supervisor to oversee inmate labor and the kitchen team inside a correctional facility. You will prepare and serve meals following menus and use a variety of utensils and machines to meet nutritional needs.

You will report to a Food Service Director and work on-site in the jail/correctional facility. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, understands food handling regulations, and enjoys teamwork, learning, and adaptability.

Qualifications

• We require a high school diploma or GED, and that you are at least 18 years of age.
• Preferred: prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for extended periods of time.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food.

You will report to a Food Service Director.You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes. Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.
• Physical demands include items such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.
