Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with large-scale cooking and food preparation preferred.
• Ability to operate kitchen and point-of-sale software.

Responsibilities

• Balance, deposit, count sheets, and damaged item reports.
• Order food and materials and maintain inventories.
• Endorse checks and make bank deposits.
• Operate a computer and related software.
• Operate kitchen and service equipment.
• Daily cleaning of kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and sanitary conditions.
• Maintain order and safety in the kitchen and cafeteria.
• Set up and break down serving lines.
• Count money and complete related reports.
• Receive cash and checks for meals.
• Control distribution of debit cards.
• Hours not to exceed 1000 hours per school year.
• Performs related duties as required.

SUMMARY:

To prepare and serve quality food to students in a quick and pleasant manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs a variety of food service accounting activities such as balances, deposits, count sheets, and damaged item reports.
• Orders food and materials and maintains and conducts inventories.
• Endorses checks and makes bank deposits.
• Operates a computer and related software.
• Operates a variety of food preparation and service equipment.
• Performs daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and sanitary conditions are met.
• Maintains order and safety in the kitchen and cafeteria.
• Sets up & breaks down serving lines (salad bar, hot food, ala carte etc.).
• Counts money, completes related reports.
• Receives cash and checks for meals.
• Controls distribution of debit cards.
• Work hours are not to exceed 1000hours per school year.
• Performs related duties as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Previous experience with large scale cooking and food preparation/serving preferred.
