Job summary

Servingschools is seeking a Food Service Substitute to support district-wide meal operations. This role involves preparing and serving food, assisting with cleaning, maintaining health standards, and operating the Computerized Accountability System in a school setting.

Job description

Position: Food Service Substitute

Location: District-Wide

Hours: 3-7 hours per day as needed

Duties May Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Preparing and serving food (may include cooking and baking).
• Assisting with cleaning the kitchen, serving, and eating areas.
• Maintaining all applicable health and sanitation standards.
• Operating a Computerized Accountability System.
• Attending staff training as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current CHRC (Criminal History Record Check) is required if offered the position. ServSafe

certification is preferred.

• Experience: Prior successful school Food Service experience is a plus.
• Physical Requirements: Evidence of ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds, stand for periods of time as long as 6+ hours on a cement/tile kitchen floor, work in a potentially hot and humid environment.

• Good math skills are a must.
• Knowledge of weight scales and sanitation is a plus.
• Ability to read and follow a recipe.
• Must be willing to learn and run a Computerized Accountability System.
• Excellent team worker.

Wage Scale: $21.88 – $25.75 per hour based on experience.
